MS-Wine: I love win-win situations.

Rumour is that Microsoft will make Office for Android. This is good!

The general consumer likes Office.  MS Office is debatable the best for opening Office format files, is feature rich and works well, despite any criticism.

On the other hand MS Windows is bad.  It is terrible.  It is a dog.  Granted - Windows 7 is the best thing they have ever done, but still it survives only on the momentum they have built up, basically dependencies by programs like Photoshop, MS Office and a handful of others that doesn't run well on Linux.

Having MS Office available on Android will help people who deal often with Office files, like word documents, and will make it easier for them to do a larger percentage of their work on their tablets.

If that happens, it would mean that MS Office would be running run Linux.  Running well, and supported by the Redmond giant.

This will have the net effect of increasing Android, effectively Linux, adoption.

Now all Microsoft needs to do is fork Wine, fix it, and call it Windows 9.  This will free them from having to develop their own operating system, and allow existing software for Windows to live in harmony alongside Linux software.

Oh, and SAMBA, while they're at it!
